My hardware/software configuration: 12" iBook G3 Dual USB 700 MHz, Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.11, Sitecom WL-329 USB stick. The older USBWirelessUtility still works with the newer driver.

The solution for me was to install the driver and afterwards copy an older version of the USBWirelessUtily to my Applications folder. However, I found that the driver itself still works on a G3. It seems that the WirelessUtility that Ralink provides in newer versions of its drivers is not compiled anymore for the PPC G3 processor. I'll share it here and I hope this solution also works for your situation. I don't have the same brand of USB Wi-Fi stick, but I probably had the same problem and figured out a solution after reading some similar, but archived, threads about this problem.
